Brian Morrell - my credentials
I bought my first camera in 1993 and fell in love with photography. Six months later I was attending Pittsburg State University taking photography classes in technology department and also in the art department. I landed a job in the local Wal-Mart one hour photo and worked there for the next sixteen months. In my spare time I was a backup for a local photographer.
In 1995, I started working at Miller's Professional Imaging. It is one of the most prestigious (and successful) professional photo labs in the country. After learning how to run some of the optical printers, I was trained for quality control and checked prints for accurate color and flaws. Over the next fourteen years, I trained to perform at least one job in almost every department. Multiple printing departments (optical, digital and hybrid printer operation and maintenance),digital and traditional art, paper processing, dust spotting, mount, and packaging. Over the course of my employment at Miller's, I have inspected around one million professional images. That is one million poses, one million lighting situations, one million composition decisions, one million backgrounds. You get the idea. I am so accustomed to looking at professional quality images that I naturally view my own photography to model the best of what I see everyday at work.
Along the way I also studied the business practices of Miller's as well as attended Pitt State taking classes in economics, finance and accounting. In my spare time I read books on photography (composition, lighting, color,...), photoshop (digital art, retouching, workflow,...), and business practices (sales, marketing, manufacturing, etc...).

Please Ask Questions
To get the best portrait possible, I need to know what your needs are, what your concerns are, are there any special considerations. I need the "five w's" - who, what, when, where and why. Knowing what you expect will help me create the art you want just as a consultation using my experience and advice will help you to know what to expect during a photography session to get the best possible results!
